More than 25 new Seasons Sinnamon Park residents and family members joined Sinnamon Park Community Manager Marlene Williamson, Care Services Manager Amy Prasad and Community Consultant Desley Arnold for a morning tea at McLeod Country Golf Club.
According to Desley, the new residents had a great morning catching up with local acquaintances and making new friends.
“We served everyone scones with jam and cream and we had residents comment on what a lovely morning it was and how nice it was to be served,” says Desley.
“I told them that this is what they have to look forward to once they move in! Quite a few people have already struck up close friendships and are busy organising their next catch up before they move in. It really shows that our close-knit and social community has already started forming.
As well as getting to know each other, the residents had the chance to mix and mingle with the staff members who will become like family once they’re living at Seasons Sinnamon Park.
Each member of staff spoke about their role in the new community and residents could put names to faces and start to understand who they can talk to about anything from moving in, making alterations to their property and putting together their care plan.
While Desley has been involved in walking these residents through from their first enquiry through to choosing their new home, she is now looking forward to supporting them through their move in and beyond.
“It was so lovely to see all these residents who I have gotten to know personally over the past many months make connections with each other and other members of the Seasons Sinnamon Park team who will support them in their new home and community.”
Seasons Sinnamon Park will be officially opened on June 29, 2018 by Minister for Aged Care the Hon Ken Wyatt AM. The grand opening day will follow on Saturday June 30, 2018 giving the local community a chance to tour the community and enjoy live entertainment. Come along and see the new community for yourself and take a walk through the apartments from 11.30am to 1.30pm.
